Best Poster Award at the 2nd International Conference on Nanotechnology Based Formulations- NanoPharmaceuticals
Priyanka Prabhu won the Best Poster Award at the “2nd International Conference on Nanotechnology Based Formulations- NanoPharmaceuticals” held on 10-11 September, 2015, at Hyderabad for poster entitled “Artemether-Lumefantrine loaded Nanostructured Lipid Carriers (NLC) for treatment of cerebral malaria”.
This conference was organized by Select Biosciences India Private Limited and this work was performed in collaboration with Tata Institute of fundamental research (TIFR), Mumbai, India.

Preshita Desai receives the OMICS International Best Young Researcher Award for the paper entitled, 't-Micelles of Curcumin: Strategy for Enhanced Brain Uptake' at the 'Fourth International Conference and Exhibition on Neurology and Therapeutics' held at Rome, Italy from 27-29th July 2015.

Priyanka Prabhu won Third Prize at the “Eighth International Annual Conference on "Translational Clinical Pharmacology Research in Drug Development" organised by South Asian Chapter of American College of Clinical Pharmacology held at Nehru Auditorium, Worli, Mumbai, India on 24-25 April, 2015 for Oral Presentation in "Preclinical Category" for work on " Nanostructured Lipid Carriers (NLC) of Artemether-Lumefantrine combination for oral malaria therapy.
This work was performed in collaboration with Tata Institute of fundamental research (TIFR), Mumbai, India.

Best Oral Presentation Award, First International Conference on Industrial Pharmacy, Kuantan, Malaysia
This work of PAT Assisted scale up studies on Hot Melt Extruder was performed in collaboration with Prof. Anant Paradkar at University of Bradford, UK under the UKIERI (UK-India Education and Research Initiative) collaborative project entitled, “Process analytics enabled green technologies for processing of poorly soluble drugs” funded by British Council, India and the initial formulation development and optimization studies were done using hot melt extruder in Prof. Vinita Deshapande's lab, Department of Physics, Institute of Chemical Technology.

Grand Challenges Explorations Round 11, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation awards $100,000 to Prof. Patravale and her team to develop the first green vaccine for brucellosis: Congratulations, Swati and Priyanka!
VBP Research Group receives a prestigious grant to develop the first green nanovaccine for nasal immunization against brucellosis from the Bill & Melinda Gates foundation. Prof. Vandana Patravale, ICT, Matunga won $100,000 for developing the cost-effective vaccine technology supported by the Gates Foundation from over 2700 applications. The sub-unit nanovaccine aims to confer long term protective immunity to humans and livestock population. Team members, Swati Vyas and Priyanka Prabhu, doctoral students in Prof. Patravale’s lab at ICT, conceptualized the initiative with Prof. Patravale instigated by an ongoing research project concerning diagnostics for brucellosis. Prof. Patravale’s team proposes to develop a sub-unit vaccine fabricated using green technology for nasal immunization in both animals and humans as a one health approach to combat brucellosis. Prof. Sharmila B. Majee, Dept. of Microbiology, Bombay Veterinary College, Parel would be actively collaborating with the team for developing the nanovaccine. Congratulations!
